Goodbye

Shadow is one tough dog. Our famy loves him so much. Goodbyes are so hard. We had noticed that he was panting a lot and his bark sounded different. We took him to the vet today and is was discovered that he had a large tumor that was inoperable and most likely cancer. At 10:00am surrounded by his family we said our tearful goodbyes. We miss him terribly. The other dogs that we have are looking for him, somehow they already know. We will always love you Shadow. You are free to chase and roam without pain.

  1. I am SO, SO sorry! Having gone through the same things around the same time, my heart is with you. My boy was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in July, surgery in Aug., and now lung mets in November. He is still battling on, but the chemo is starting to wear on him. I cannot tell you how sorry I am. But, know in your heart, that you did the best thing you could for Shadow. Canine cancer sucks! Shadow thanks you for not letting him suffer. I am so sorry for having to say goodbye so soon! It’s not fair! Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers today and in the days ahead. God speed, my friend!

  2. So sorry, so very, very sorry.

I know you are devasted beyond words right now and the upcoming void and break in routine with Shadow will seem unbearable.

Please know that we understand like no others can. The bond with our tripawds has not limits. We are here for you. Don’t try and go this part of the journey alone. Come here to vent, to cry, to get support, but most of all, to share some glorious memories and delightful pictures of your sweet Shadow.

You are family and we hope you stay connected and continue to use Shadow’s story of bravery and resilience to inspire others. Shadow’s life has meaning and purpose….he touched us deeply and he will continue to touch others with his story.

To be able to release Shadow back home surrounded by lpve and while he still had quality…yeah…he’s so grateful for that.

We jave a section jere called Tripawds Alumni, started by our beloved Bonnie in honor of her sweet Angel Polly. It’s open to everyone, but it’s also a special place for those of us whose loved ones have transitioned back to Spirit where we can continue to share their memories or update our “teammates” on new pack members that our Angels have sent us, etc. I do hope you continue to check in with us and let us know how you are doing or how we can help.

Shadow got to be Shadow all his glorious life. Ten years of thousands and thousands of happy memories full of tail wagging and treats and loving and spoiling! Just as you felt privileged to have Shadow in your lives, he felt privileged to have you in his!

And those wonderful memories will soon help heal the ache in your heart and replace it with smiles and the knowing he is still right by your side.

Surrounding you with Shadow’s eternal grace…and non-stop wagging tail!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too

  3. So sorry for your loss. You did the most selfless thing that you could have done! Superdog Shadow is now running at the bridge. May your happy memories of Shadow help ease this terrible pain you are feeling.

  4. So sorry for your loss of Shadow…your love for him was so very strong in the ability to let him go at the end, and he definitely knew how deep your love was for him his whole life….he will never be forgotten. He is running free and happy now, with so many other beloved angel Tripawds and quad-pawds over the Bridge, including all my much loved angel Lab girls, Polly, Maggie, and Duchess…..

And yes, please stay with us here…as Sally has said, we now have a new forum for us Alumni, to talk about any new pets in our lives, to remember our beloved Tripawds, and just to know that we are all still a very valuable part of this wonderful community and always will be.

    Keeping you in my thoughts
Bonnie & Angel Polly (& Angels Maggie & Duchess)

  5. Mario and Priscilla, please accept our deepest condolences, we were heartbroken to see that Shadow has moved on to the heavens. While it’s never easy to part ways, we hope that all the good times and joy he brought to your life is bringing all of you comfort as you adjust to his passing. We are very, very sorry.

P.S. Always remember that every dog here joins this community and makes a difference for so many others. Shadow’s story will always be a beacon of hope for more pain-free quality time together. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your journey.
